Game overview
Vampire Crawlers is a single-player, casual turn-based deckbuilder with roguelite elements, developed by poncle and Nosebleed Interactive. It is a spin-off of Vampire Survivors, applying that game's design principles — accessibility, replayability, and escalating power — to a card-driven dungeon crawler structure.
Gameplay
The game is built around three interlocking systems:
- Turboturn combat: cards are played in ascending mana order, with each step multiplying the next card's effect. Wild cards extend the chain, allowing combos to escalate well beyond the base stack.
- Deck building: experience gained during runs unlocks new cards; chests yield customization gems and power-ups; weapon evolutions and summoned survivors trigger additional cascading effects.
- Dungeon crawling: multi-floor maps with interactive environments, treasures, and unique encounters. A shovel is used to descend to the next floor.
Each run varies due to roguelite progression and the choice of Crawler character, which alters the starting deck. Between runs, a village hub provides persistent power-up upgrades.
Pace and approach
Turns can be resolved slowly and tactically or executed as fast as the player can input them — the game labels this "hyper" play. The outcome is the same regardless of pace.
