Age of Empires series
Age of Empires is a real-time strategy video game series, originally released in 1997 by Ensemble Studios. The series is based on historical events in Europe, Africa, and Asia, such as the expansion of the Roman Empire, the Spanish conquest of Mexico, and colonization of the Americas and Asia. Medieval battlefield
Age of Empires IV is set in the medieval period, with each of the 4 campaigns and 35 missions presenting events over the course of five hundred years. Players will be able to lead one of the 8 different civilizations such as the English, Mongols, Chinese, Delhi Sultanate, Abbasid Dynasty, and the French. However, Relic doesn’t stop there and is planning to further expand the civilizations. The gameplay for each of them is slightly different as the developers made sure to incorporate their individual weaknesses and strengths, making the gameplay unique. Between each mission, a short documentary film is shown, bringing players closer to the historical background of the game and the adventures ahead.
Moreover, the game features historical figures, such as the French heroine and icon Joan of Arc, who players could already personate during the Age of Empires II campaign.
