The MP15DC is a versatile locomotive designed in the traditional "end cab" style of diesel switchers but equipped with mainline-capable trucks. Manufactured by Electro-Motive (EMD) between 1974 and 1980, the MP15DC is a four-axle (B-B) locomotive with a power output of 1,500 horsepower (1119 kW). It is powered by an EMD 12-cylinder 645-series engine and utilizes a D.C. generator. A total of 351 MP15 locomotives were produced.
