Merkava Mk.2
The Merkava Mk.2 is a version of the Merkava tank that was introduced in the 1980s and has undergone several upgrades. The Mk.2D, developed in the 1990s, features additional armor modules for the turret, upper hull, and anti-mine protection. The tank's 105mm Sharir gun is capable of firing various NATO L7 rounds, including APFSDS, HEATFS, HESH, and smoke shells. It is equipped with a 12.7mm M2HB machine gun, three 7.62mm FN MAG machine guns, a 66mm smoke grenade launcher, and a thermal vision system for the gunner.
