Game overview
Diablo® IV: Lord of Hatred™ is the second major expansion for Diablo IV. It continues the story after the events of Vessel of Hatred, following Mephisto's effort to assert control over Sanctuary. The expansion requires the Diablo IV base game to play.
Every edition includes the full Vessel of Hatred expansion.
New content
The expansion adds the following to the base game:
- A new campaign set in Skovos, a previously unexplored region with varied environments including volcanic coastlines and ancient ruins.
- Two new playable classes: the Paladin and the Warlock.
- An increased character level cap, raised from 60 to 70.
- Reworked skill trees for all eight classes, including new skill variants and a revised progression system.
- A new Loot Filter for item management.
- The Horadric Cube, a returning crafting system, and a new Talisman item slot supporting set bonuses.
Endgame
Lord of Hatred introduces several additions to Diablo IV's endgame:
- War Plans — a system that lets players build a custom progression playlist from available activities, with selectable modifiers affecting rewards.
- Echoing Hatred — a wave-based horde mode with escalating difficulty and loot rewards tied to survival length.
- Fishing — a non-combat side activity available across Sanctuary.

- Internet connection and a Battle.net account required to play.
- If Vessel of Hatred is already owned, it will not be granted again.
