The series returns
Jagged Alliance 3 is a new installment in the long-running series of tactical role-playing games. This time, you will travel to the country of Grand Chien with a mission to find its missing president and defeat The Legion, a paramilitary organization that tries to overtake the state.
Gameplay
The game takes advantage of the proven Jagged Alliance formula. Hence, it uses an isometric perspective and turn-based combat that will let you show off your tactical skills. You will have a vast range of mercenaries to assign to your team. Each merc has a unique background and personality. The series veterans will recognize some familiar faces, including Vicki Waters and Fidel Dahan.
As your mission unfolds, your soldiers level up and gain useful perks. You will also upgrade your team, use earned loot to modify your equipment, and even recruit new members from the people of Grand Chien. Furthermore, you can play Jagged Alliance 3 solo or in co-op mode.
The release
The path to the Jagged Alliance 3 premiere was a rocky one. The game was initially announced in 2004, but the studio tasked with developing it later changed several times. Finally, in 2021, its publisher, THQ Nordic, revealed that the game was coming to PC. It also introduced Haemimont Games, a studio behind the latest Tropico installments, as the developer behind Jagged Alliance 3. The game's release date was set for July 14, 2023.
