Game overview
Poker Night at the Inventory is a remaster of the 2010 casual poker game originally developed by Telltale Games, rebuilt by Skunkape Games — a studio made up of former Telltale developers who worked on the original. It provides access to the full single-player game, which relaunched on March 5, 2026.
Gameplay
The game is a single-player No Limit Texas Hold'em simulation set in the Inventory, a fictional underground social club. The player competes against four AI opponents across repeated tournaments, with rising blinds and a standard bankroll structure.
- Each opponent has distinct betting patterns and readable behavioral tells that develop over repeated play.
- Character dialogue runs throughout each session, tied to hands played, pot sizes, and eliminations.
- Completing tournaments unlocks custom card decks and table designs, each tied to one of the four opponent franchises. Some unlocks alter the visual appearance of the table or characters.
- Opponents may stake personal items when short on chips. Busting them out at that point earns the item for the player's trophy case and Team Fortress 2 backpack.
Opponents
The four AI opponents at the table come from separate franchises.
- Max — from Sam & Max: Freelance Police (Sam & Max series)
- Strong Bad — from Homestar Runner
- Tycho — from Penny Arcade
- The Heavy — from Team Fortress 2
Remaster changes
This version updates both the visuals and the underlying poker system from the original 2010 release.
- Visual refresh across characters, environment, lighting, and animations at higher resolution.
- Rebuilt poker code with more accurate rules implementation and improved opponent decision-making.
- New unlockable content added specifically for this release.
Team Fortress 2 bonus items
Purchasing before March 19 includes a TF2 Dealer's Visor item for the Team Fortress 2 backpack. Additional TF2 items can be unlocked during play by eliminating each opponent when they have staked a personal item.
