Game overview
Fatekeeper is a first-person action RPG developed by Paraglacial and published by THQ Nordic. Set in a handcrafted dark fantasy world, it combines melee combat, spellcasting, and character-shaping choices across ruins, forests, underground caverns, and ancient temples. The game launches on PC via Steam Early Access on June 2, 2026.
Gameplay
Combat blends sword and sorcery with physics-driven interactions:
- Melee attacks, spells, and environmental elements interact dynamically during encounters
- Enemies each have distinct move sets, strengths, and weak points
- Progression supports three broad approaches: raw strength, nimble precision, or sorcery, with combinations viable
- Weapons, armor, and relics are found and looted throughout the world; loadout customization affects build outcomes
- The world follows a focused narrative path but is designed to reward exploration
Early Access
The Early Access release covers the graphical presentation and core gameplay for the opening portion of the game. Story content, full progression mechanics, and supporting systems are not yet included. The developers plan to remain in Early Access for approximately 18 months.
