Welcome to the Night City - a paradise for mercenaries, thieves, black market dealers, and all other scum. Set in a dystopian science fiction version of the future, this American megacity located in the Free State of North California is controlled by huge corporations that dictate every aspect of citizens’ lives, including providing them easier access to all kinds of cybernetic body modifications than healthcare and food.
In Cyberpunk 2077, you play as V - a fully customizable mercenary, starting from one of three available lifepaths: Nomad, Streetkid, and Corpo. The original setting of the game was first created for the Cyberpunk 2020 tabletop role-playing game, on which Cyberpunk 2077 is based.
