Game overview
Far Far West is a 1-4 player co-op PvE shooter developed by Evil Raptor and published by Fireshine Games. Currently available in Early Access on PC via Steam, it puts players in the role of robot cowboy bounty hunters taking on contracts in a supernatural Wild West setting.
Gameplay
Each session follows a contract loop: accept a mission from the town sheriff, complete objectives across hostile zones, and extract with the bounty. Core mechanics include:
- Switching between firearms and spells mid-combat — revolvers, shotguns, and machine guns alongside elemental abilities such as fireballs
- Spell combining for additional effects during enemy encounters
- Wave-based enemy encounters and boss fights across environments including cursed mines and desert terrain
- Navigating the world on mechanical horses, including pursuit of a ghost train
- Upgrading guns, spells, and abilities at town between runs
- Perk selection to specialise in spell damage, healing, or ranged accuracy
- Cosmetic customisation for the player character and mount
Early Access
The game launched into Early Access on April 28, 2026. The full core loop, multiplayer, character customisation, and side missions are present in the current build. The developers plan a 12-month Early Access period, with additional content — including more enemies, weapons, game modes, and long-term progression systems — added on the path to the 1.0 release.
