What is The Outlast Trials
Human test subjects are involuntarily chosen by Murkoff Corporation to study cutting-edge techniques of brainwashing and mind control in this Cold War era thriller. Some of these unfortunate souls are you and your potential companions, up to 4 players. If you make it through the tests - alone or in groups - and finish the treatment, Murkoff will be glad to let you go. But will you cooperate? Or will you gather evidence of unethical experiments as Murkoff Corporation performs on the psyche and behavior of its "patients"?
Your values will be questioned, your endurance strained, and your sanity broken in a world of doubt, terror, and violence. It's all carried out in the name of innovation, research, and money.
The Outlast Trials - gameplay
This is classic Outlast. The main gameplay focuses on evading adversaries, hiding from them, and attempting to flee. Red Barrels studio developers understand how important it is to be able to construct your own character, so as a player you can select equipment, upgrades, and perks that suit your playstyle and create your human subject. You can also use the tools Murkoff gives you to become more stealthy, create opportunities to escape, slack off on adversaries, and more. But those tools must be earned, and you must put in a lot of effort to make them better.
