The Eastern Front of World War II is the setting for the isometric real-time tactics game known as War Mongrels (WM). Even though it resulted in the loss of many lives or drastically altered many others, this phase of the conflict has received less prominence in video games. It also provided new evidence of a perverted society and the worst aspects of human nature, as well as many inspiring stories of bravery and camaraderie. These two diametrically opposed mental impulses serve as the cornerstones of War Mongrels. Initially propelled by propaganda, our heroes quickly discover their calling in battling the Nazi forces who first drew them into the global battle.
The storyline, which is highly influenced by history, takes players on the adventure of two Wehrmacht troops as they transform from deserters to intimidating guerilla warriors. As they interact with additional personalities that share their goal, their crew grows. Players must learn to mix their character's unique advantages and skills in order to outwit the opponent during a range of tasks in a fluid environment. However, a supply of weaponry will also be available and important in achieving mission objectives. Some of the key abilities players will need to master include sneaking, diversion, silent killings, and manipulating the surroundings.
