Game overview
Escape String is a 2D puzzle game in which a small humanoid robot awakens in the rubble of a landfill inside a large factory. The robot receives cryptic messages from an unknown helper and must explore the factory in search of answers about his own identity and that of his distant contact.
Gameplay
The player does not control the robot directly. Instead, movement commands are entered above the robot's display before action begins, instructing him when to jump, duck, or perform other actions. Completing a level requires calculating distances between the robot and obstacles based on perspective.
Obstacles start as fully static and grow more varied and dynamic as the game progresses. Types include guard robots that mirror the player robot's movements.
Each level can be completed with a minimum number of inputs, all entered as a single command string. Meeting this condition unlocks the gold chip for that level, which is used to unlock additional skins for the robot.
