Game overview
The Guild – Europa 1410 is an economic simulation set in medieval Europe. Players start with a small business and a fledgling dynasty, then build wealth, expand political influence, and secure succession across generations. The game draws inspiration from the original Europa 1400: The Guild.
Professions and trade
Craft and trade form the core of gameplay. Players choose a profession and grow their business within a city's economic ecosystem.
- Multiple professions available, including blacksmith, alchemist, and tailor
- Each profession offers distinct production and business management mechanics
- Expanding a business increases wealth and influence within the city
Politics and social climbing
Business success alone does not translate into political power. Offices must be pursued through engagement with the city's political system.
- Use popularity, bribes, or blackmail to gain support and climb the social ladder
- Holding city offices advances personal ambitions and can hinder rivals
- Criminal actions leave evidence that can be used against the player in court
Alternative paths
Players can pursue illegal or law enforcement routes instead of conventional trade.
- Criminal options include cart robbery, pickpocketing, building scouting, and kidnapping for ransom
- Law enforcement path involves patrolling streets with guardsmen and protecting citizens from crime
- The chosen path affects standing with other city inhabitants
Dynasty and legacy
Decisions carry forward across generations. Players must manage succession and family influence alongside their commercial and political activities. Alliances and rivalries with other dynasties shape long-term outcomes.
