Open Remote Desktop Licensing Manager:
- On the license server, click Start.
- Point to Administrative Tools.
- Point to Remote Desktop Services.
- Click Remote Desktop Licensing Manager.

Activate the License Server:
- Right-click the license server you want to activate.
- Click Activate Server. The Activate Server Wizard will start.
- Click Next.

Select Connection Method:
- On the Connection Method page, in the Connection method list, select Telephone.
- Click Next.

Choose Your Country or Region:
- On the Country or Region Selection page, select your country/region.
- Click Next to view the appropriate telephone number to call.

Call Microsoft:
- Call Microsoft using the telephone number displayed on the License Server Activation page.
- Provide the Microsoft customer support representative with the Product ID displayed on your screen.
- Provide your name and the name of your company.
- The representative will process your request and create a unique ID for your license server.

Enter the License Server ID:
- On the License Server Activation page in the Activate Server Wizard, enter the license server ID provided by the representative.
- Click Next. Your license server is now activated.

Install Remote Desktop Services Client Access Licenses (RDS CALs):
- On the Completing the Activate Server Wizard page, do one of the following:
- To install RDS CALs immediately, ensure that the Start Install Licenses Wizard now checkbox is selected. Click Next and follow the instructions.
- To install RDS CALs later, clear the Start Install Licenses Wizard now checkbox. Click Finish.

Redeem the Code:
- Ensure you are trying to redeem the code on the same version of the program. Follow the instructions provided in the Install Licenses Wizard to complete the process.
