Square Enix and Luminous Productions bring us a completely new IP in which we will discover the magical universe of Athia. Forspoken has planned release on January 24, 2023, and it’s going to be available on PC and PlayStation 5 platforms.
Transported to another universe
Forspoken, formerly known as Project Athia, is an action RPG set in the devastated world of Athia. You'll explore it as Frey Holland, a young woman magically transported from New York City to this fantasy land. Moreover, she obtained a mysterious bracelet granting her magic powers. Frey just wants to come back home; however, destiny has a much greater purpose for her.
The Break
Athia hasn't always been a hostile land full of murderous beasts. Once this land flourished, but then the Break occurred. This catastrophic event devastated the world and changed men and animals into monstrosities. Frey involuntarily becomes a hero who can bring Athia its former glory. To achieve this ultimate goal, she has to master her newly found powers, explore four hazardous realms, and defeat Tantas, corrupted sorceresses ruling Athia.
Parkour full of magic
Frey has unique magic parkour abilities that enable swift and fluid movement across the rough terrain of Athia. To fight with animals that have been corrupted and other strange foes, Frey is able to switch between two magic schools while engaged in battle with opponents. Sila's Magic is red and focuses on melee; Frey's Magic is purple and focuses on ranged abilities. A customizable radial menu is used to quickly equip skills from a spidery skill tree into slots for offense and defense. They take the form of combination attacks or magical weaponry like in Devil May Cry 5 title.
