Steel Inferno DLC
Steel Inferno is an expansion pack for War in the East 2 that adds eight new scenarios and two new campaigns, focusing on major offensives that had a significant impact on the Eastern Front during World War II. One of the new features is the coverage of operations in all of Yugoslavia in 1944, which has not been included in previous installments of the series. Finnish forces also make an appearance in the area just north of Leningrad.
The expansion also includes scenarios that cover the German attack into the Caucasus, as well as a hypothetical scenario that provides the Germans with an additional army for the campaign. Another scenario, Drama on the Danube, places the German player in a difficult position as they try to deal with the surrender of Romania and Bulgaria, and the challenges of German forces in Greece trying to escape north through partisan-controlled territory.
In addition to the new scenarios, Steel Inferno features two new full map campaigns that begin with the German Operation Citadel in July 1943 and about a month before the Soviet Operation Bagration in May 1944. These campaigns will challenge players to make strategic decisions and lead their forces to victory on the Eastern Front.
