Train Sim World - MP15DC
Climb on board for difficult switching, maintenance-of-way, and train rescue operations with the Caltrain Electro-Motive MP15DC diesel locomotive on the San Francisco to San Jose Peninsula Corridor route in Train Sim World! A pair of adaptable EMD MP15DC locomotives that were once used by the Southern Pacific are rostered by commuter railroad Caltrain to undertake a range of unique tasks.
The MP15DC is a multi-purpose locomotive with trucks capable of mainline operation but built in the conventional "end cab" design of diesel switchers. The MP15DC is a four-axle (B-B), 1,500 horsepower (1119 kW), D.C.-powered locomotive built by Electro-Motive (EMD) between 1974 and 1980. It is propelled by an EMD 12-cylinder 645-series engine. There were 351 MP15s built in total.
The TSW MP15DC, which is a remarkable recreation of the iconic locomotive and is painted in Caltrain's vibrant livery, boasts meticulous detailing, fully interactive controls, and lifelike performance. Additionally, you'll have the chance to put the Caltrain MP15DC through its paces while performing a variety of real-world tasks, such as switching and train make-up tasks at the railroad's San Jose shop facilities, operating heavy-tonnage work trains on the main line, and saving derailed commuter trains!
