Train Simulator: Norddeutsche-Bahn: Kiel - Lubeck Route (DLC) (PC) Steam Key - GLOBAL
Scenic regional operations come to life
The first sections of the line were constructed in 1866 in an attempt to connect villages in Holstein with Baltic ports, but railways would not reach Lübeck until 1873, following the establishment of the German Empire.
Once fully operational, the railway was operated by several businesses, principally conveying passengers visiting the region's spectacular landscapes. By the 1930s, typical journey durations along the line were 150 minutes, with the D-Zug express cutting that to 95 minutes. Regional services may now travel the line in just over an hour.
