Train stations, locomotives, and vehicles come in over thirty different types. If a population is near rail stations that connect to densely populated ones, then more work and science will be produced by that people. Production will rise if a steelworks and iron mine are connected. The same will apply to other building pairs, like lumber camps and sawmills, etc.

Breathe life into your city by building different neighbourhoods. Do you want a bohemian neighbourhood? Build bars, parks and libraries, but keep a low population density nearby. Do you want a bourgeois neighbourhood? You need parks and luxury shops.
