Each play-through of the game offers a unique experience as players make decisions that can change the outcome of the war, both big and small. Depending on the advancement of the tech tree, players can introduce new military technologies earlier in the conflict or change pivotal moments in history to alter the course of the war.

The game offers four different modes to play: Campaign, Historical Battles, Skirmish, and Multiplayer. In the Campaign mode, players experience the unfolding saga of World War I. Historical Battles allow players to relive iconic moments of the war. Skirmish mode allows players to create their own battles, while Multiplayer mode allows players to test their strategies against others. Each player's journey through the conflict is unique to them, allowing for a deep and compelling experience.

This war changing the world

The battlefields in the game are persistent, meaning that you will revisit previously fought battlegrounds that still bear the marks of previous encounters. The impact of artillery bombardments can be seen in the form of craters, and trenches and fortifications that you build will remain in place if you return. The once beautiful French countryside is now desolate due to the constant warfare, and the shifting weather conditions such as snow and rain can affect artillery performance and unit movement. To emerge victorious, you will need to adapt your strategy to the conditions on the ground.

Historical realism

Allied Nation or the Central Power

As the Allied Nations, you'll have access to the combined might of the British, French, and American armies, along with their advanced technologies, while the Central Powers of Germany, Austria-Hungary, and the Ottoman Empire possess formidable defensive capabilities, including the use of poison gas.

Choose your faction and lead your armies to victory, employing various tactics such as building fortifications, calling in artillery strikes, and using specialized units like flamethrowers and snipers. The choices you make will ultimately determine the outcome of the war.
