A multiplayer online fighting game, Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker allows players to take control of their customized avatar and compete in one of the game’s many modes. The game features over twenty characters from the legendary anime series Naruto, including its leader, Naruto Uzumaki.
Shinobi Striker emphasizes cooperative multiplayer gameplay. Teams of four players are divided into two groups, with up to eight characters appearing simultaneously on the screen. Characters are divided into four types: Attack types are best suited for close range combat, with decent speed and offensive strength; Defense types have high defensive capabilities but slow speed and limited offensive ability; Technical types have balanced attack and defense capabilities; and Support types have low attack and defense but can provide various support abilities for other characters.
The player can choose from four different character types: Defence, Ranged, Healer and Attacker. The Defence type is best suited to protecting allies by using strong attacks and guarding them from the enemies' attacks. A ranged character stays at a distance and supports other players by firing projectiles at the enemy. Healers use medical ninjutsu to heal themselves as well as their allies, while Attackers use close-range combat with light weapons such as swords or daggers to attack the enemy.
In Shinobi Striker, players compete in a variety of multiplayer game modes. Combat mode is a four-on-four battle; the team with the most kills wins. Base battle requires players to capture and hold control points in order to gain points. Flag battles involve capturing the enemy flag while defending your own; this mode can be played with up to four players. In Sub-Mission mode, you'll take on computer controlled enemies while completing specific objectives.
The game received mixed reviews; players praised character customization options but criticized the combat as repetitive. If you're a fan of both multiplayer co-op games and the Naruto universe, you should give Shinobi Striker a chance.
