Gameplay
The game is built on the SRD 5.2 ruleset, the 2024 revised edition of the Dungeons & Dragons tabletop rules. Combat and skill checks follow tabletop conventions, with dice rolls determining outcomes.
- Players create and control a party of four adventurers, choosing from six available classes at Early Access launch: Fighter, Rogue, Wizard, Cleric, Sorcerer, and Paladin.
- Multiclassing is supported from the start of Early Access.
- Combat is turn-based and grid-based, with positioning, verticality, and lighting factoring into encounters.
- The world map allows free exploration across the continent of Neokos, with random events including skill challenges, wandering merchants, and hidden locations in addition to combat.
- Story choices affect later quests and lead to multiple endings.
Early Access content
The Early Access version includes Act I of the main campaign, with the following available at launch.
- Maximum character level of 4.
- Six playable classes and four ancestries.
- Access to a portion of the Neokos world map.
